Christmas assistance applications being taken The Salvation Army and Department of Social Services are taking applications for Christmas assistance Oct. 27-31 from 9-11:30 a.m. and 1-3:30 p.m. Those who need assistance with Christmas should visit the Salvation Army, 601 Colonial Ave., during these hours.
