Despite objections from some town councillors it is inappropriate to blend the commercial and religious elements of Christmas, the annual outdoor crib service will be held on the same date Louth Town Council heard. According to town clerk Linda Blankley, this is at the request of church leaders who do not wish to be regarded as ‘a separate entity’ within the community. Coun Mary Finch expressed the hope the 2007 event will be more successful than last year’s.
She said: “There was an hour between the lighting up and the service. The children were freezing. “And it didn’t help that Santa failed to turn up.” CLICK HERE to email us your NEWS or your views.
