Target and other local stores opened early and kept the traffic flowing late into the night, extending their hours and slashing prices. Lori Jones, marketing director for Northpark Mall, said the mall usually goes back to its normal hours, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., after Christmas, but this year, retailers opened between 6 and 8 a.m. and didn t close until 11 p.m. to coax every shopper possible into stores before the end of the holiday shopping season Jan. 2.
