Volunteers thanked for Christmas dinner help

About 70 volunteers spent Dec. 24 preparing food, and another group arrived early Christmas morning to prepare and deliver about 270 meals. About 200 people ate at the church. “The steering committee would like to express our thanks to all the volunteers who helped make the dinner enjoyable for our guests and the homebound.

The dinner has come to mean a great deal to so many people who are alone or unable to prepare a holiday meal for themselves,” wrote Dykes, Huckbody and the other committee members. “In addition to the volunteers, we would like to say Thank You to all the people who make the dinner possible through their monetary contributions, donations of cookies and supplies for the dinner. Without the support and generosity of the people in this community, the dinner would not exist.
