Give your Christmas cookies a Kiss

-->

While doing a little Hershey s chocolate Internet research, I came across a page on Hershey.com offering Quick Easy Holiday Tips. The first item on the list says Sit back and relax with a steamy cup of Hershey s cocoa or a glass of red wine and a piece of Hershey s chocolate. The people at The Hershey Company sure know how to live. However, all of that sitting and sipping doesn t get cookies baked.

I was checking out their Web site because this week I m sharing one of my favorite Christmas cookies. They are those rotund and sparkly peanut butter balls with a Hershey Kiss squished into the center. They go by various names like Peanut Butter Blossoms and Hershey Kiss Cookies. Impatient bakers will love today s version because the batter is whipped up quickly in a single bowl. Once baked, the chocolate kiss goes in, creating a fancy-crackly-cookie look.

Besides being easy, these cookies are fun to eat. Like an Oreo, there are several tasty ways to tackle them and I ve seen them all. Nibbling around the edges, saving a big, chocolaty bite for last is one way. Kids like to go straight for the kiss, gnawing their way down from top to bottom. Some like to go from the outside in, striving for a balance of cookie and chocolate in every chomp. And the adventurous ones will toss a whole cookie into their mouths and munch merrily away.

However they are eaten, making these cookies will leave plenty of time to sit back and relax and with a cup of holiday cheer.
