Road rage ends with Christmas decorations shattered and man shot

WINTER PARK, Fla. - A family feud in Central Florida ends with shattered Christmas decorations and a man shot. Police in Winter Haven say it started with an argument about one woman’s driving habits. Officers say the woman told her brother about it, and he decided to retaliate by driving his car into Douglas Sheldon’s Christmas display. When Sheldon went to the vandal’s house to complain, police say the man took out a gun and shot Sheldon twice.

The victim’s wife Maria Sheldon says, “So there were words with us yes, big deal. She called them I guess to settle the feud and they brought a gun. They brought a gun and they shot my husband, bottom line.” Sheldon was hit in the arm and abdomen. He’s in stable condition in the hospital. The accused shooter, 25-year-old Matthew Lankford, faces attempted murder charges.
