Women Shot Men Over Christmas Decorations POSTED

2007 SPRINGFIELD, La. — A woman tried to shoot two men to death after a dog damaged Christmas decorations outside her mobile home, police said. Livingston Parish sheriff’s deputies say Ethel Shannon McKinney, 28, faces two counts of attempted second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon. Jason Ard, a sheriff’s department spokesman, said McKinney and her boyfriend, 34-year-old Audie Ray Criswell got into an argument with two men over the damaged decorations. The dog belongs to the two men.

Police said McKinney, who was inside her mobile home, fired several shots at the men, who were standing outside. One of the men was shot in the upper torso and arm. The other victim was shot in his arm. Neither had life-threatening injuries. The names of the victims were not released. The shootings happened Sunday night. Criswell was charged with disturbing the peace and two counts of aggravated assault. Copyright 2007 by The Associated Press . All rights reserved.
