The market traditionally offers holiday pieces such as wreaths, garlands, table decorations, gingerbread houses, blooming plants, pottery, carved ornaments, homemade jams and jellies and other season items. Christmas trees cut the day before the market, are also featured. This year’s market will be held at Clem’s Cabin, 1000 Hendersonville Rd. The Greens Market began as an outlet for local craftswomen to sell their handmade Christmas decorations.
The ladies were taught how to prune trees and shrubbery to benefit the plants and keep the greenery flourishing. All materials used are harvested according to accepted conservation principles. The materials used are all natural, a press release from the club said. Seventeen local vendors will participate in this year’s market. The proceeds from the Greens Market support local horticultural, environmental and conservation projects and fund student scholarships in these disciplines.
Parking will be available at the Mission/St. Joseph’s Health System parking lot at 980 Hendersonville Rd., just across from the club’s log cabin and garden complex.
