Influential people in my life: First of all, I have to say the Lord. He has made me who I am today. Without Him, I would not be the person I am. He instilled in me years ago a desire to be a person who would help others and to use those talents He gave me to do so. I think it’s exciting that I get to do that. If it’s singing or decorating a Christmas tree He gave me those talents, and I am so thankful for it. The second person would be Steve Hurst of Nashville, Tenn.
He told a young woman from Hope, Ark., years ago that she could be anything she wanted to be if she worked hard enough. I took him at his word and worked hard, and the Lord has blessed me beyond words.
