October 5, 2007 Sony slashes PlayStation 3 price to stoke up Christmas sales

I think you mean 40GB of hard disk storage. Memory (or RAM) is something totally different. Besides, none of this is important anyway since one can easily swap out the PS3 hard drive for a larger one, meaning you can purchase a cut-price 40GB PS3 and install a 200GB hard disk taking the storage capability way above what is possible Microsoft’s attempt at a games console. Sam Brown, Edinburgh, UK My PS2 is fitted with a 300GB and the other PS2 has a 250GB.

The price cut is more impressive and would allow me to consider buying a PS3 in the future. . As yet the new reduced price is still 100.00 to much for me and many of my friends who are all PS1 and PS2 fans.. Frankie, Halesowen, West Midlands ….and 2 HD dvds… please tell me you ment Blu-Ray. there is a diference and many people argue over which is better. basicly Blu-Ray is Sony and HD DVD is Microsoft in gaming terms.

im glad to hear that the price has finaly had a propper cut but i am confused as to the removal of reverse compatability. As it is software based i assume this means different versions of firmware. that or they removed the CD and DVD drives which would be a huge mistake given how good the video and audio output is from thease machines.
