When the First Lady, Mrs Chantal Biya, made her entrance into the school premises, the pupils knew it was time to light Christmas trees and candles. Her presence signified that Mother Christmas was around as each child expected a gift at the end. In deed, each child received a gift from Mrs Chantal Biya. The environment was beautifully decorated with balloons, flowers and doll babies. The pupils saluted their matron, parents and guests.
They expressed gratitude to the First Lady, Mrs Chantal Biya, whom they fondly called Maman . They thanked her for the Christmas gifts each of them received. In both official languages, the pupils thrilled the audience in sketches, poems, dance and songs. The children also illustrated the biblical meaning of Christmas through sketches.
Artists such as Achalle, in his popular song Bunya and Tonton Ebogo in one of his Bikutsi rhythm Mamam Odile , joined the pupils in singing We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year .
