Christmas in the South

And it s true. The event offers goods ranging from a $2 bookmark to statues nearing $1,000. Once November and the holidays set in, people get so slammed for time, Hunt said. Some folks do the majority of their Christmas shopping here. And you know it s quality because you re buying it straight from the creator. Amanda Brown and Pat Boyd made the trip to Concord from Rock Hill for the event. The two arrived around 1 p.m. Saturday, and at 4 p.m., they said they still had some shopping to do.

She already took some bags out to the car, Boyd said. And we ve still got to walk through one more time. Boyd said she hoped to do a lot of her Christmas shopping at the event. The weary shopper at Christmas Made in the South can find a pick-me-up at the Perky Moose booth. Perky Moose is a company run by Atlanta resident Tom Abrams and his wife that makes flavored, instant drinks. Popular favorites are White Moose Cappuccino and Pumpkin Pie.

And it has several hot samples on-hand at the event. We saw a niche that needed to be filled and starting coming up with different flavors, said Abrams of the 14-year-old business. It just grew from there. Our customers like to see what new flavor we come up with each year.
