Troops to Receive 5,000 Christmas Trees and Calling Cards from Armed Forces Foundation

Send Christmas Cheer Overseas on Dec. 1WASHINGTON–(Business Wire)–This holiday season troops overseas will get a taste of homethanks to the efforts of Congressman Roscoe Bartlett (R-MD) and anon-profit called the Armed Forces Foundation (AFF). On December 1Operation Christmas Tree, a program of the AFF, will welcome hundredsof patriotic families, Service Members, and troop supporters, at theCarroll County Agricultural Center in Westminster, MD from 10:00 AM -7:00 PM.

“We want to make sure our troops get a bit of comfort from homeand a taste of the holiday season,” said AFF President, PatriciaDriscoll. “This initiative is something that is worked on year roundand pays off tremendously when the final product is sent.” Jim Ward, who’s been instrumental in getting Operation ChristmasTree’s details together, is a father who’s Army daughter has served inIraq for the past 18 months.

Last year Jim and the AFF sent 75Christmas trees overseas but set a goal this year of 5,000 after thetremendous success the initiative had last year. The main corporate sponsor this year is CDW Government Inc.
