SACRAMENTO Christmas is coming early today for about 125 underprivileged children in the area, courtesy of several Russian-speaking businesses. The children some Ukrainian orphans, others from low-income families of all races and nationalities will meet at 4 p.m. in the Russian Plaza at Fulton and Marconi avenues, said Sergei Ivannikov, founder of Sacramento’s Russian American Media company.
A dozen limousines provided by Coastal Breeze Limousine will take them to a party at Incredible John’s Pizza. Then, they will visit Santa at Ashley Furniture HomeStore, 384 Sunrise Ave., Roseville, Ivannikov said. “There will also be singing, dancing, a talent show and cartoonists,” Ivannikov said of the event, called Christmas Lights for Kids. “It’s going to make this holiday brilliant in their life,” he said.
